Tutoring Home
This page has been developed just for our LCA Adult tutors. Come here to submit your quarterly report form, find out about the latest tutor news and ideas. Tell us what else you would like to see. What would help your tutoring be more effective and fun?
You asked for it, now its here! No more paper (save that tree). Now you can submit that quarterly report on line, no fuss, no muss. And while you’re at it, tell us what other ideas you’ve come up with. We know you are special and we want to treat you that way!
Need ideas for tutoring? Here are some GREAT links with all sorts of practical and fun ideas that may help you. At the Literacy Council, we also have lots of resources for you to borrow and Xerox. Our Adult Literacy Program staff are here to support you. Call or stop in to chat any time! And just a reminder that Tutor Round-ups are another great way to get feedback about how you are doing.
Come here to find out what’s going on at the Literacy Council! Whether it is orientation sessions, Tutor Round-ups, sales at the book store, or other special events, we will post all the news here.
The latest Tutor Times can be found here, along with other great LCA publications. Files are in .pdf format.
So often, learners tell us about the great things that have happened thanks to their increased English language literacy. We’ve written up some of these success stories so you can see just what a difference volunteering makes in the lives of learners who come to the Literacy Council of Alaska.
Can't find what you're looking for? Let us know what you would like to see on the website or give suggestions for improvement. We'd also love to hear about your experiences while tutoring, whether it is a problem you have faced or a success story. We invite you to e-mail our Adult Literacy Program staff or stop in to see a real person!
